📌 SOME TERMS TO KNOW: - portfolio: everything you own inside an account. your "portfolio" is just your list of investments - holding: one single investment in that portfolio. VTI is a holding. VOO is a holding. - asset allocation: the big-picture split of your money across stocks, bonds, and cash. mine is 92/7/1. - target date fund: one fund that holds a full mix (stocks, bonds, US, international) for you and automatically gets safer as your retirement year gets closer. the "2060" is just my rough retirement year. - index fund: a fund that buys an entire market instead of trying to pick winners. and it’s low cost because nobody is getting paid to guess!! - work optional: having enough invested that working becomes a choice, not a requirement. not the same as never working again. a note: when I say "half a million invested," that's my total across everything, not just these two Roths. the two Roths together are about $122k, and they're one slice of the bigger picture. #LearnOnTikTokContest #PersonalFinance #rothira #retirementplanning #investingforbeginners
