HOW TO MAKE MUSIC 101

If you're creative and you're always wanted to make music, I'm gonna show you how to start step by step. No gatekeeping. Here's exactly what you'll need. Number one, a computer. Number two, a microphone. Number three, headphones. And finally, music software. Let's start with the computer. Don't worry, you don't need some expensive crazy setup to get started. Use what you have on your computer. I started on an old hand-me-down computer and it worked just fine. And nowadays, people make music on their phones. Number two, a microphone. If you're brand new, you can use your computer's mic. Now, is it gonna sound studio quality? Probably not. But don't let that stop you from starting. You can also use wired headphones. They also have mics too, so you can probably use those. If there's one thing that I would upgrade in the future, it would definitely be your microphone. Because you don't want to hear this, or this, in the background, unless that's your artistic vision. Carry on. Speaking of things you can hear, that brings me to point number three. Question: Do you want to hear your masterpiece? You say yes? Great. Headphones make editing and mixing your songs way easier. You can also use computer speakers, but headphones and speakers are used for two different things. Headphones are usually used when you're recording, but can also be used for mixing. Speakers are usually used for listening back to your track, making sure you like everything, and but recording, you don't usually use them for recording. I got the cheapest headphones that I could find and I used them so much that they don't look like headphones anymore. Long story short, headphones are your friend. Number four, music software. This is where your ideas become songs. Yes, free music software exists. Free as in zero dollars. Did I tried a bunch? But my beginner recommendation is always BandLab or FL Studio. I use FL Studio to this day and I love it. Not sponsored by the way. That's because these two programs, I feel like, are easier to learn, they're not overwhelming, but they're the ones I always use. BandLab is online, so you can just type it in and get started making your songs. FL Studio you have to download. And I believe there's a free trial that you can access. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure. So you can check that out. I definitely would recommend. Okay, that's all you need for now.
