Hook
It starts with checking. You still checking up on them. Rather it's through social media or through people. And I put this at number one because it is so common. We always find ourselves curious after a breakup, trying to figure out what the other person's doing. If they are talking to somebody else. To tell you the truth, that doesn't get you anywhere. That's you choosing the wound over your own peace. Every single time. Because as soon as you see something that you don't like, it's going to get you. It's going to mess you up. So why would you put yourself in that predicament? Sometimes checking is you trying to feel close to that connection that's already gone. Then, there's comparing. You compare every person after her to her. And this one won't be happening without you even trying to do it. Somebody new could be doing everything right. And you still find yourself comparing. Comparing them to memory. And the thing is, that memory isn't even a fair competition. Because you only remember the good parts now.
