One more thing.

One more thing. Anaya looked down on Casey, and when you feel like you're settling and you look down on someone, and they still choose someone else, that is way more hurtful than if you were actually in love and they chose someone else. We can see from that conversation with Melanie that everybody, including Anaya, felt like Casey was beneath her and that she would have to build him up and he came from nothing and he would be like a build-a-bear type type of man. And these were conversations that were had with Anaya, and so when you are being told that this man is beneath you and you are too good for him, and you choose him anyways, even though he's slightly a loser, and he chooses someone else over you, that is just, it's heartbreaking. It's heartbreaking because it's just so embarrassing. It's one thing to be embarrassed by a man who's like, fine, got his shit together and got a lot of money. To be embarrassed by a man that you think is beneath you is very humbling. And a lot of those tears had nothing to do with Casey and everything to do with choosing a man that she felt was beneath her. And another piece is when you have a man who you feel like is beneath you, you also feel like you can control them, and she does have slightly control tendencies. Like, I am the same way, I'm a little bit controlling. And so when you're dating someone who you feel like you look down upon and they kind of like man up and boss up and make decisions on their own, it is very shocking because she definitely expected somehow delusionally that he would come in and be with her.
