Burj Al Babas is an abandoned luxury development near Mudurnu in northwestern Turkey. It features rows of hundreds of identical, miniature, Disney-esque châteaux. Intended as an exclusive resort for wealthy buyers from the Gulf, the $200 million project went bankrupt in 2019, leaving it an eerie ghost town. The project was controversial from the start; local residents heavily opposed it, citing deforestation, environmental breaches, and the clash between the European-style castles and Mudurnu's traditional Ottoman architecture. Today, the site stands as a surreal and quiet ghost town, though it has gained unexpected fame as a tourist attraction and photography destination. While some homes were partially completed, most remain empty, unfinished shells with bare concrete, exposed framing, and piles of leftover building materials. Entry is heavily restricted, and the property is monitored by security to protect the site and deter trespassers. #facts #geography #creepy #urbex #abandoned
