The Springfield 3: Three women

The "Springfield Three" refers to the unsolved 1992 disappearance of Sherrill Levitt (47), her daughter Suzanne "Suzie" Streeter (19), and her daughter's friend Stacy McCall (18). The three women vanished from Levitt’s home in Springfield, Missouri, on June 7, 1992, after leaving behind their cars, purses, keys, and even the family dog, with no clear signs of a struggle. Stacy and Suzie had just attended high school graduation ceremonies and graduation parties on June 6, 1992 and when friends arrived at the house later on June 7 and found the front door unlocked. Inside, all personal belongings, including money, cigarettes, and vehicles, were untouched. An accidental message left on the house answering machine by a friend later that day is thought to have inadvertently deleted potential clues. Despite thousands of tips submitted to law enforcement and extensive national media coverage (including features on America's Most Wanted and Disappeared), the women have never been found, and no official charges have ever been filed.
