The "Three Jesus Experiment" or ‘The Three Christs of Ypsilanti,’ is a famous and controversial 1959 psychological study by social psychologist Milton Rokeach. He placed three psychiatric patients with schizophrenia who each believed they were Jesus Christ together in a Michigan hospital to see if forcing the contradiction would cure their delusions. The first meetings were tense and argumentative, with the men shouting at each other about who was the real Christ or the holier figure. Rokeach actively manipulated the patients by staging scenarios and inventing fake messages from imaginary figures. Modern ethicists view the study as a form of psychological t****re or exploitation of vulnerable patients rather than genuine therapy. Rokeach later acknowledged the ethical flaws of his experiment, admitting that he had managed to change how the men behaved socially in some ways, but ultimately failed to cure or significantly dismantle their core psychological delusions. #creepy #Science #schizophrenic #experiments #disturbing
