How to actually cut as a video editor

So if you're a video editor there's a 90% chance that you have probably been cutting your video the wrong way all along. Let me explain. So I was watching an episode of Sidemen Inside and I noticed there was like a little bit of a cutting mistake that most editors make that I feel like it'll fly over a lot of people's heads, but it's one of those things that make your edits look a bit better. So yeah, last May I'm eliminated. I feel like I did. Now if you watch right there, right before the angle changes, you would see for a split second there, it did a little bit of a blink before the angle changes. Now it's not a big deal and it's not the worst thing in the world, but it will be much cleaner if the cut happened right here instead of happening here. Now here's a second example of where this happens. I'm guessing someone of their password buttons and they've gone. So I'll line up a few nice sort of colors that they're not too threatening. I say each because the idea is Now you notice right before he says each, he kind of like pauses a bit with the speaker in his hand. So it pauses right after he says each. So the kind of like next phrase starts independently and it doesn't feel too jarring. So I hope this made a lot of sense and this video kind of like give you guys lots of context when it comes to like how to cut your videos properly and not cutting your videos all over the place. So that whenever someone is making a movement in your videos, you are way more conscious of it. It took me a very very long time for me to realize this and I hope that this video actually taught you. Now I also want to note that like not every movement is going to be natural and not everyone that is filming videos is going to know where to pause properly whenever they make a statement or whatever and that's fine. You can't always get a perfect scenario for you to make your cuts really clean, but it's your job as an editor to kind of like judge between the movements to find out okay, what feels good to me in this moment or what feels like proper or like does this edit feel right? It's your job as an editor for you to decode that.
