things I wish someone told me about video editing... Learning Iman Gadzhi style editing doesn't set you up for growth as an editor. Clients that are obsessed with this style of editing probably aren't who you should be working with long term. Please learn basic graphic design, it'll help you A LOT down the line. Colors that work well together, composition and how to pair fonts. You are going to be working with a lot of large files so you better invest in storage. Get an external SSD you can always edit from or buy an hard drive to backup files you might need later. Finally, if you're just starting out; spend 6-12 months obsessing over your craft and getting better at it. Trust me, you won't realize how fast that time would pass if you end up wasting it.
