I've always just assumed that cats recognize their owners by their face. According to science. Yes, cats primarily recognize you by your scent. Studies show cats easily tell their owners apart from strangers just by sniffing their clothes or skin. They can even identify you from far away based on your unique smell. They actually recognize you primarily by your scent. So, to test this, I'm gonna be completely different. We're gonna see if my cats will still recognize me just by my scent. Meet my alter ego. No offense to any real Kyles out there though. So, I left the house for a little bit, and Marshall pretty much greeted me right away. Yeah. He had no idea it was me. But he was very curious and extremely cautious. Once he finally got the courage to come smell me, I thought for sure he would recognize me, especially after sniffing my hands. That doesn't seem like he recognizes me by scent. Then it was time to test it on Leela. She immediately greeted me, was meowing at me. I'm pretty sure she smelled me right away and knew exactly who I was. Like she was literally brushing up against me, looking like this. I think Leela definitely mainly by my scent, but Marshall, little warming up. I'm pretty sure he just thinks I'm like the new cool dad now. So, we're just bros hanging out. Anyways, for science.
