This sweet stray cat is our cat Booty’s doppelgänger, and he visits our yard for food almost every day. A few weeks ago, I noticed something heartbreaking … his collar had slipped down and was cinched tightly around his waist like a vice. We set a humane trap, but he was too smart and kept avoiding the trigger for days! Finally, I scattered dry cat food all the way inside, left for a few hours, and when I came home… he was there. He was scared. He was angry. But he was safe. Using a hook to gently bring the collar close to the bars, we were able to cut it off without taking him out of the trap. The moment the door opened, he bolted as fast as he could. He’ll probably stay away for a while, and I don’t blame him.
