It's time to ban fireworks

It's time to ban fireworks. Every time fireworks are released, they pollute the air, water, and soil. Fireworks release particulate matter and greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitric oxide. On July 4th, particulate matter rises by 42% across the country. Perchlorate is a chemical added to fireworks shown to affect the thyroid, found in the groundwater and soil near where fireworks were released. Fireworks also harm wildlife, especially birds. A study using GPS trackers found that migratory geese flew away from their sleeping sites in response to fireworks and never returned. We all know that fireworks affect both pets and people. There is a 30 to 60% increase in lost pets from July 4th to July 6th, and July 5th is the busiest day for pet shelters. Fireworks can be triggering to veterans with PTSD and people with sensitivities to noise. But there are better alternatives to fireworks. Drone shows like these are safer and don't cause distress to wildlife, people, and pets. What do you think fireworks should be banned?
