Some people have the same problem. Weedy block paved drives. And I don't know what to do. So we just pressure wash it. I pressure wash hundreds of drives a year and it's the same story. I've got loads of weeds, don't know what to do, can't get rid of them. So this customer, like many of my customers, has opted for having it sealed. And a lot of people will say the sealant doesn't work, it doesn't prevent the weeds, doesn't stop them coming back. And that's usually because that person has had a bad experience, the preparation hasn't been done correctly, or they're using a substandard product that just isn't any good. So we opt for a Smart Seal block paving sealer, like this one. Yes, it isn't cheap, but does it do a job? Yes, it does. So I find preparation is also key. Most driveways, do they get cleaned correctly? Probably not. So I opt for a pressure wash, a rinse, a chemical treatment to remove all the organic staining prior to sealing. The last thing you want to do is seal any of them organic stains or oil stains below the sealing. Then what we do is once all that's done and it's cleaned, we leave it for two or three days to dry. We resand on the next visit and seal. And I can assure you now once we've flung them joints with this sealer, and it sets hard, it's waterproof. It stops new weeds germinating and it stops old weeds pushing back through. So if you are looking at stopping them weeds, guys, I would recommend the probably best option you're gonna come across is going to be sealing that drive.
