Things you might not know after baby is born. There will be tons coming in and out of your room all day long. Knock knock. Knock knock. Janitor room service. Janitor room service. The food people, the nurses, the doctors, the techs, the labs, every time you lay your head down to sleep, someone's knocking, asking you questions at 2:00 AM. You're gonna sleep so much. Like the first 24 hours, you're gonna think you have a chill, easy baby, but they're just like basically sleeping like they were in the womb and they don't realize they're in the outside world to wake them up. Not only are you but to feed. But the nurses are in the room like, make sure you're feeding them. Most hospitals provide postpartum supplies for the mom and most provide diapers, wipes, and creams and stuff for the baby. Also give you free snacks. We get turkey sandwiches, some pudding, some chips, some fruit cups. You will be wearing diapers, okay? You're gonna be given some postpartum stuff, like some sprays to help with the burning, with the bleeding. Your baby's skin might be like super purply or red. They might get something called newborn rash. All that is very normal. The room is pretty bright, which is a little hard to get some sleep, but bring an eye mask.
