Hook
To all the pregnant mamas, I don't know who but pregnant mama needs to hear this, but do not let TikTok get you in a frenzy. Baby, I've seen so many videos where these moms is decorating their rooms, got balloons everywhere, bringing their own bedding, bringing their bath towels, setting up the bathroom, giving nurses goody bags and all the things. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the nurses appreciate the goody bags, the rooms look nice, if you have the time, the energy, and the means to do it, go for it, boo. Listen, I delivered my baby earlier this week. And I did it without all that. And guess what, we survived. We made it. We wasn't judged, it wasn't a problem. We was at the hospital. I went into labor Monday, we was home Tuesday night. Okay? So before you spend all, again, if you have the resources, if you want to do it, go for it. But before you spend all that money trying to compete with people on TikTok or think you have to do all that extra and try to fit in and all of that, girl, if you ain't got it or you don't feel like it, you don't have to do it. And you never know when your baby coming, okay? He came four weeks early. So thankfully I had my bags packed, but I didn't even have time to have all that other stuff. And guess what, we did all that and my husband brought my bag and forgot the baby bag. So guess what, we still had to use everything the hospital gave us. And that's another thing, y'all bringing all these diapers, wipes, outfits, all that, the hospital provide that. The hospital going to send you home with millions of diapers and wipes and bottles and formula and don't bring your own stuff, save that for your house. Now again, if you have the means, the resources, you're excited, this your first baby or this even your second baby, this your last baby, you just want to make a big deal, you got the resources, you got the resources to give the nurses goody baskets and you can do all of the cutsey stuff, go for it. But I'm this is for the people who just either that ain't you, you don't have the resources, you or you may not have the time or it's just overwhelming. That's not a requirement, baby. That's not a requirement. I had this boy at the last minute out of nowhere, four weeks early with only my bag packed, and my bag ain't have no cute outfits, no cute gowns for everyday, no pink towels to go take my shower. I ain't even have a time to take a shower, because they make you wait 24 hours before you could even shower. So yeah, yeah. So again, if you want to participate in that, do it. That's your decision. But please don't feel obligated, because I can tell you my for you page, like, would have, if I didn't know and I didn't already have a child, my for you page would have me thinking I have to do all this extra, all this cutsey stuff and make sure the room is decorated. And then on top of that, you going to deliver, well I know for me, I delivered in one room, then once I delivered and was there for a few hours, then I was moved to postpartum anyway, so that was a totally different room. So y'all decorating rooms, you'll decorate one room then you got to leave and go move that stuff to the other room, like y'all. Again, if you want to, do it, I ain't judging, I ain't trying to talk down on anybody that do it or say they too much. What I'm saying is, don't feel obligated. Okay? Oh and I also forgot to mention, I had planned on going get my braids redone, I was going to go get my feet done that day, I was going to get my lashes done, um I was planning on getting no wax before I went. I ain't have a chance to do none of that. You see my hair? Okay, these braids like two months old. I still ain't got my lashes done, my toes are still looking a hot mess and I ain't waxed. Okay? And I made it. It was okay. It was okay. Nobody judged me. It was okay.
