Good morning. It is the day after the 4th of July in Tahoe. Living in Tahoe on the 4th of July can be pretty disheartening watching one of our favorite places feel like it's really getting trashed. But instead of sitting and being frustrated about it, we're going to go to a cleanup. So I want to show you what this is like. Every year on the 5th of July, Keep Tahoe Blue host beach cleanups around Lake Tahoe to help pick up after the crowds on the 4th when you show up. You get a bag for trash, a vest, I can just so easily find myself getting sad every time this holiday comes around because of the news articles we see every year with how much trash gets left behind and I just do not like how it makes me feel. I just can never fully understand how people come to a place they love so much and leave so much trash on the same beach they enjoyed yesterday. But I have to say coming out and seeing locals and visitors cleaning up trash together the next morning is truly so inspiring. We can all sit on our phones and talk about how mad we are to see what's happening out there, or we can show up and do our part to make an impact on the places we love. And I promise it helps with those feelings more than you might expect.
