I have toured units in every single neighborhood of the city. I just like people know what they're getting themselves into. Number one, the difference between a condo and a purpose-built rental. A condo is owned by one person, which is your landlord. A purpose-built rental is owned by a company or an organization. Number two, before you even start touring a place, have your documents ready. Here's a list of things that you will need. Make sure you have them. Number three, before you even sign the lease, the unit and the neighborhood at different times of the day. Things will be very different at 11:00 AM versus 7:00 PM. Noise, lighting, people, just energy. So you want to make sure that you understand all of that before you sign and you're not trapped.
