My husband and I both make six figures, we still budget every dollar because we don't just want to be rich, we want to be wealthy. Before I dive in, we practice value-based budgeting, which means we spend a lot of money on stuff that brings us joy and we don't spend a lot of money on stuff that doesn't. Now for the fun part, let's dive into June. A total of $16,487.29 hit our accounts. This is after our 401k, healthcare, HSA, and stock purchase plan deductions. We paid ourselves first. We put $5,870 into our investment accounts. Our biggest category is housing. We spend $3,300 on our rent. Our utilities were super high this month, Texas has been so hot. We spent $400 on our electricity bill. And then we spend around $250 on our phones and Wi-Fi. The category we overspend on the most this month was our pets. We're supposed to only spend up to $500 and we spent $1,300. Granted, we just got a puppy. We've been using that excuse for two months now, so I think it's time to rein in on the toys. We did really well on our grocery and entertainment budget this month. We got $1,000 on groceries and $1,000 on entertainment. Entertainment is anything that we do with friends, so any restaurants or bars that we go to socially. Another fun category we have is our blow fund. That is my husband and I's discretionary spending. So, we each get a pot of money that we're allowed to do anything with, no questions asked. I'll pop the rest of the numbers up ahead. Please let me know if you're as nosy as I am and love hearing about other people's finances.
