Let's budget your June income as a married couple earning 430k income living in Houston prioritizing saving for our first home. We are expecting about 30k in income this month and that is from our full time 9 to 5 jobs. Our largest expense every month is our rent, it's 3100 dollars. The rest of our fixed expenses are pretty minimal and trust me we are enjoying it while it lasts because the costs as future homeowners are going to increase a lot. I'm planning to put 2600 dollars towards debt that includes the 2k snowball payment for my student loans. I'm only 9 thousand away from only being in 5 figures instead of six. I'm estimating our variable expenses around 4800 but I'm already seeing some red flags in our spending like how we've already blown through our 600 dollar grocery budget and it's only the second week of the month. I log our spending every single week so I can spot things just like this. Comment budget or click the link in my profile if you want this template. We also budgeted 1500 in June to book a trip for the 4th of July but after looking at the prices I'm not sure that's gonna happen. We're in major saving mode so we are trying to save about 50% of our income this month which is almost $14,000. Majority of that is going into our new home/moving sinking fund which should get us pretty close to being fully funded at a goal of $30,000. So be sure to follow along if you like budgeting, paying off debt and living real life at the same time.
