Do not support your friends and family business. You open a shawarma joint, shawarma place in your friends hand. Then rush to your WhatsApp and post it's funny how people support strangers but never the ones close to them. That's one of the stupidest things I've seen people do online. Your friends never buy once and never come back or they repost your business once of support. All of a sudden, they don't support you. You don't support you for thinking just like that. Just because my friend opens a shawarma place, does not mean I drop my favorite shawarma place. If I drop it, I'm dropping it out of guilt. And that's the worst patronage for you to have. The day you opened was the day you signed up to find strangers to buy from you. Marketing your business is not your friend's job, it's your job. Having expectations for your friends to do that is childish. And sometimes your product is just horrible, and they are just scared or shy to tell you because you are constantly posting that the people who don't repost your business, your friends, your support you, your enemy. Your friends and family are not your target audience. Strangers paying you is the whole point of a business. If your product is good enough that buying kudos to you, your product appeals to a taste. A friend who buys from you once supported you. A friend who does nothing, still supports you, just not with their money. Their money was never the goal in the first place. So go make your product better, market your business yourself and stop blaming your friends and family for not being there.
