5 jobs I applied for and got rejected from. Okay, starting off. Number one is childcare work or after school care or what they call the BSO. I applied for this because my recent work experience is related to childcare, but in order to work in childcare in the Netherlands, you have to have some sort of childcare certificate to show that you're safe to work with children, which just makes sense. No. Number two is hotel staff. So I had a bit of customer service experience before, but I got rejected because they prefer someone who has at least one year's work experience. Number three is healthcare assistant. I have a background in psychology, so I think this would be relevant, but you obviously need fluent Dutch. I'm working towards that. So I applied for this a few times because they already found someone. Competition is really high these days. I applied to a couple of jobs in retail industry and I'm still waiting to hear back. And lastly, I applied this marketing intern, but I got rejected because I'm not a student and they prioritize students, which just makes sense. So I guess need so here, the market is rough right now. So if you have a job, keep it. I apply for at least 10 to 20 jobs a day. I tailor my CV and cover letter depending on the job. I've also translated my resume in Dutch. But the bottom line is the language barrier is real and I really need to speed up on my Dutch learning process. This are my options. Number one, to study more or get more qualifications or certificates. Or just create a job for myself. I'm leaning towards the latter, but if you have any leads or tips, feel free to comment down below or message me. I would really appreciate it. Let's see what will happen next week. Maybe to go to the stores and beg for a job. If you want to feel my job search journey, feel free to follow along. Doe!
