I had to reject someone today that I think would have got the role if they didn't make this one mistake. So basically, a couple weeks ago I interviewed this guy, really strong first round. Not only did he have a strong CV, the first round interview was honestly top tier. I always give strong yeses to people. Probably I've only given like five this year, one of my strongest yeses this year. No negatives. The second round, I was so excited it was going to be today with the head of the team who's also the direct manager for this role, so would be the person they worked the closest with. And she waited for 15 minutes, a 30 minute interview. She said on the call for 15 minutes, we usually only say for five. And she dropped off and she was like, reject him because not only that interview confirmed, not only confirmed over a week, you get sent the day before and no email, no show, no call, nothing. We have too, the moment interviewing, I know you said that you were really good in the first round, but I just can't waste. And then he got rejected. So guys, two pieces of advice. The first, if you're actually interviewing and applying for jobs, check your email regularly. That's number one. Number two, make sure the email you're applying with is one, check spelling it correctly. The amount of times I reach out to people multiple times, two, three, four times for an interview, and either they get back to me like six weeks later to be like, oh, can I still go for it? No. Or they just email me because they spelt the email address in, spelt it incorrectly, the email address. These are like, things, guys, you're putting more blockers in front of yourself. I was really annoyed today that he missed the interview. I thought that like, he'd really enjoy it. He got referrals from people at the company, like it was all ticking, like, great boxes. Um, but hey, game's the game. Don't ruin the game for yourself, you know?
