When my wife met my mother. Familial trauma seems to be doing well on here. And also there's been a community of people who've been like, Yo, this is my story. That has to do with that. So here's one about when my mom met my wife for the first time. So here's one about when my mom met my wife for the first time. We weren't married yet. Uh, my mom and dad came in to visit and they were like, oh, let's go to a tattoo parlor. My mom wanted to get an ear piercing in LA. So she could go back to St. Louis and tell her friends, "I got pierced in Hollywood." Great, cool, easy. But I told my wife, "Careful. There will be a moment when my mom tries to corner you and talk to you and angle you in a triangulation with me." Uh, previous instances was an ex of mine was sitting in a back seat with my mom, and, uh, my mom said to her, "Tell me a secret you've never told anyone." Tell me a secret you've never told anyone. No, no, don't do it. So in this case, um, my wife and my mom go into the back of the piercing place. My mom wants to get her ears pierced. And as the piercer leaves to go sanitize the piercing equipment, my mom bursts into tears. And my wife is like, "What's wrong?" And my mom is like, "Nothing, don't worry about it." Piercer comes back in, does one ear, but the earring is wrong. Piercer goes back out, mom burst into tears again, and my wife is like, okay, what is this? And my mom goes, "Why won't Michael touch me?" And my wife is like, "What?" And she's like, "Has he ever said anything about me? Am I a bad mother? Why won't he touch me anymore?" And my wife is like, okay, this is not appropriate. And then my mom was like, "Don't tell him. Don't tell him I told you this." And of course, she told me it later that night, but, um, yeah. So that's how they met.
