Mother-in-law support, how can I help you today? Hi, yes, I need some help with my daughter-in-law. She won't come to my baby shower. Oh, congratulations on your upcoming arrival. Was there a conflict or something? Oh, thanks, but it's not my baby. Her and my son are having a baby and so I'm throwing a grandma shower for myself. And the shower that her mum is throwing is in the afternoon, so there's no reason why she can't attend. I'm struggling to get through to her. Okay, is this a shower just for your girlfriends or your friends from work and you'd like her to pop in? No, I invited her family, my whole family, and all of her friends. I need many baby items at my house and some new furniture items to replace the ones that the baby will inevitably ruin. I also need some personal care items to celebrate this exciting milestone for me. Do you have a registry for the shower? I actually made my own registry. I used most of the items that my daughter-in-law had on her registry and put them on mine, but no changing table though. I do not do diapers. Been there, done that. No diapers for me. It's their turn. You're expecting your daughter-in-law's family, her friends, and your family to attend two showers on the same day and get two gifts? No, the guests don't need to attend both showers. They don't want to. But mine is first, so it would be incredibly rude if they didn't go to mine and then went to hers. But she's the baby's mom and my daughter-in-law, and I'm going to be the baby's grandma, so it would be very rude if my daughter-in-law doesn't come to my shower, and I can't seem to make her understand that. They also be a little bit annoyed that you're planning a whole shower for her baby for yourself and not planning to give her the gifts. Have you received any RSVPs yet? No, I haven't received any RSVPs yet. Just some of my coworkers, neighbors' children, who rudely weren't invited to my daughter-in-law shower at her mother's house. Okay, ma'am. Well, I have all the details here. Someone will be in touch with you soon with what they think the solution might be for your issue here. Please do. I need someone to talk some sense into her. It's going to be very embarrassing for me if she doesn't show up to her own mother-in-law's grandma shower. Yep. Okay. Have the day you deserve. Goodbye. Bye now.
