I seriously thought that achy knot between my shoulder blades was just mine to keep forever. The "good posture" everyone teaches, squeezing your shoulder blades back and down, feels like it's helping because your chest opens. But you've just signed your whole back up to be tight all day. That's why the sore spot creeps up into your neck and never lets go. You're bracing, not opening. What changed everything for me was realizing my ribcage was collapsed, not my back being weak. When the front of you stays compressed, that pressure doesn't disappear. It travels. I have a hypothesis that this is exactly why my jaw and even my pelvic floor stayed tight for years, all of it downstream of a caved-in chest I didn't know I was holding. You are one connected web, so when you fix the ribs and things you never linked to your posture start to soften. Comment REPATTERN for my signature class that teaches you the foundations of how your fascia is made to be. It's changing lives.
