This is what happens when you don't have enough light coming from above a plant and only light coming from the side. She's got a bald head. But everything trailing down is doing super well. It's even sizing up and it looks nice and full towards the bottom. But absolutely nothing up top. So obviously I need to fix her lighting situation, but we're also going to kind of restyle her to make her look better. And I think terracotta was not the right choice for this plant because terracotta is so porous, it dries out the soil so fast. So we're going to put her in a plastic pot to help retain some of that moisture. But we're still going to put her in a chunky soil to help her still drain. Taking plants out of terracotta is such a pain in the ass because the roots stick to the pot. I'm just going to pull away all the roots from the pot. Her roots look okay. I'm going to plop her in here. I didn't need to upsize the pot, but I needed a bigger circumference because I'm going to wrap the vines around to make her look fuller. I don't know if that makes sense, but I'll show you. Okay, flip the camera around so you can see better. I have these plant pins, I think they're technically called strawberry pins, but I just used Bobby pins. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to pin the vines to the top of the surface. I'm going to expand them a little bit, but be careful 'cause they're plastic, they'll break. It's going to look messy at first, but as the plant grows roots into the soil and it stabilizes itself, it's going to get a lot better. So that's how I fixed a bald-headed plant. This is a super quick and easy plant styling hack which doesn't require you to take a bunch of cuttings and root them in water. Everything is still attached to the mother vine. All those nodes that you pinned to the soil are going to grow their own roots and stabilize themselves.
