When you buy a home, you are going to get a ton of letters in the mail. Let's figure out if it's a save or if it's a scam. First up, we have a parcel tracking notice, call (619) 824-3633. We're not going to call that number, that number is a scam. Next up, we have a servicing transfer letter. This is actually a save, and I'll tell you why. Lenders occasionally sell the loans amongst each other and change who you're sending your payment to. So, very important, you double check with your original lender and make sure that a scam, and not usually, ten times out of ten, this is a save. Next, we have a legal property records with an invoice at the very bottom. And if you read the fine print, they're simply trying to sell you information about your property that you already got access to when you bought it. So this is a scam. Now, we have from the county clerk office, a homeowner exemption letter. Now, this is a save because most counties, districts, some have some form of homeowner's exemption, meaning you're going to get off of taxes year over year, but only if it's your primary residence, and we are going to save this one and complete the forms associated. And we have a notice of recording from title services. Now, this was not a company that you purchase. And yet, an invoice due for property records one's to sell already. They're trying to sell you stuff that you already have.
