My Top 100 Board Games Of All Time #40-#31

These are my top 100 board games of all time. My top 100 board games of all time. Hi, my name is Zeshawn and I'm a huge board game nerd. I've played over 500 different board games and these are the games I think are genuinely worth your time. And number 40, we got Marrakesh. Now this is by Stefan Feld who is the king of point salad games, which basically just means there's a ton of different ways to score points. You're raising up your city, you're growing date farms, you're fishing in the river, you're building gates at the city walls, you're increasing your knowledge, you're increasing your reputation with the palace. It's so good. And number 39, one of my favorite two-player board games ever is Lord of the Rings Duel for Middle Earth. Now this is better than Seven Wonders Duel. It's a reiteration, but it's not a reskin. It's Lord of the Rings. It's the same mechanics, but now you have three different win conditions. And the coolest thing is this little area control aspect where if you have presence in the whole map, you win. But they also have this tug of war thing with the rings where the Nazgûl are trying to catch the free folk and you're trying to throw the ring in Mordor. It's really cool. There's also like some cool area control of the moon itself, but my favorite part about this is the three different companies that you introduce in each game. They act as their own different mini game for their own scoring conditions, their own ways to have different routes to victory. It's so good. Reskin like the art is so good. And number 38 is Shackleton Base. This is one of my favorite Euro games and it's quickly rising up to that list because this is a really cool worker placement game where you're trying to colonize and move on the moon. There's also like some cool area control of the moon itself, but my favorite part about this is the three different companies that you introduce in each game. They act as their own different mini game for their own scoring conditions, their own ways to have different routes to victory. It's so good. And number 37 is Dune Imperium. You know it was going to be on this list. This is a fantastic worker placement game that is also a deck building hybrid. It's the Dune theme, so it's a really cool IP. It's just, I think Dune Imperium is still so good. I had played uprise. It's a little bit more combat focused, but I think Dune Imperium is still so good. And number 36 is Final Girl. Now I am loving this game. I have so many different horror box games. This is a solo only game where you're rolling dice and you're pretty much playing this mini game of trying to escape the killer and each killer and scenario has its own game and their own layer strategy you have to play with and you can mix and match different sets with different characters. It's just, it's so good. It's quick. I can play a game in like 20, 30 minutes and it's so thematic. Like this is one of the most thematic solo games I've ever played. And number 35 is probably one of the most complicated Euro games I've ever played. It's Sankore: Pride of Mansa Musa. Now I don't really know how to describe this game without talking about it for two minutes straight. So I'm just going to tell you it has a fantastic theme that you don't normally see. It's North African inspired. You are basically getting these students through classes and they graduate in different disciplines of education. And each discipline of education are kind of tied into each other. You have a little bit of area control, a little bit of route building, a little bit of set collection. So well done. And then the scoring at the end of the game, you put books in the great library and they all like multiply for how well you're doing in certain different academic fields. It's so good. And number 34 is my favorite board and dice game ever and probably one of my favorite dice drafting board games of all time. It's Tiletum. I absolutely love Tiletum. I think it is such a great dice drafting Euro. It has a great way for me. My wife likes it a lot. The expansions are really good. Just Tiletum is, I think going to be a certified classic when it comes to dice drafting. And number 33 is Kemet Blood and Sand. Now I am a sucker for area control games. They're my favorite type of board games. And you know what's actually funny? At first I didn't like Kemet Blood and Sand. I thought there was a little bit too much going on because you're drafting all these cool power tiles, but you draft so much that it becomes so asymmetric from the other players. It's kind of hard to keep track of who can do what. But it's just, it's so epic. And the Egyptian theme is so great. Now there is another Egyptian theme area control game that is not on this list. You'll see it later. Don't worry. And number 32 is Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era. This is just the box cover because the game is literally 30 pounds. So it's a bunch of poker chips and dice. But anyways, Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era is phenomenal. Like I could talk about this for days and days. It's so great. You can play in mini campaigns. It's a sprawling epic. The combat is so damn good. If you play too many bones, it's this, but so much better. Just, if you love big sprawling epic games that you can play two, four sessions, it's really good at solo. It's really good at two, which is so good. Combat, play Elder Scrolls. And number 31 is one of my favorite area control board games of all time. It's Wonderlands War. Now this is an Alice in Wonderland themed bag building area control game. Bag building. Yes. You pull out of a bag, kind of like in Quacks. You're building your bag up. But it's area control. Oh my, it's done so well. The color palette, everything here, the components are so tactile. It is a bit long, but it's one of the best area control games I've ever played. And those are my top 100 board games from 40 to 31.
