Can I tell you the secret to motivating your ADHD tween or teen? You can’t. I know… that stings. But hear me out. You cannot motivate another human being. Motivation isn’t something you give your child. It’s something they create when the environment gives them a reason to act. And that’s where most parents get stuck. They’re trying to push motivation into their child instead of building a home that pulls motivation out of them. Here’s the hard truth… Right now, you might actually be motivating your child to stay unmotivated. Why would they get off their screens if they still have access whether they do their homework or not? Why would they take responsibility if someone always rescues them? Why would they change if nothing around them changes? Before you come for me in the comments… this isn’t about blaming parents. We’ve been taught to remind, rescue, negotiate, and hope they’ll eventually “get it.” They won’t. Not because they’re lazy. Because ADHD is an interest-based nervous system. Your child needs a reason to activate. That’s why I teach what I call The Nudge Theory. You don’t force motivation. You create systems where doing nothing becomes more uncomfortable than taking action. That’s when your child starts motivating themselves. Inside Bootcamp, we spend two full weeks building these systems together because this one shift changes everything. Less nagging. Less arguing. More responsibility. More independence. If you’re ready to stop carrying your child’s motivation on your shoulders, comment BOOTCAMP below or send me a DM, and I’ll send you all the details.#adhd #adhdparenting #adhdmom #adhdtiktok
