The most common mistake I see from people shopping in Europe is paying in USD. You know when you tap your card or your phone and it's like, pay in USD or pay in the local currency? Always pay in the local currency. When you pay in USD, the store almost always adds a ton of fees. 2. Look up the tipping culture. Some countries, if it's exceptional service, then 5% tip. Never 20%. Like they would be robbing you blind. 3. VAT Refund. Most important is the excuse for shopping in Europe, which is the tax VAT. Check list is outlined in the Substack, but basically all you need to know is bring your passport shopping, ask for the tax refund or tax receipt. You're gonna have two stops when you get to the airport.
