This is a film and a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life. This one is special. Some of you may know and perhaps maybe a lot of you may not know but the inspiration of the character of Mawei was my grandfather. The high chief, Peter Mawei. And when you pull up pictures of the high chief and pull up pictures of Mawei as we now know him, you will see a spitting image from his barrel chest and his barrel body to his charisma to his smile and his power. And so every day that I transformed into my way, I thought about my grandfather and every day before I would walk out of my trailer, I would say a little prayer to him and I would talk to him as a movie and as a character, I'm lucky to get the part, but also the part is so much deeper than been just a part. This is my ancestors and it's my it's my soul. Of all the films that I've been fortunate enough to bring here to Hawaii. This one is special because it is about our culture, our Polynesian culture and it's our land, our culture, our pride, our people. It's also a film and a story that has become beloved all around the world. So, for me it's just a big full circle moment that I look around as the sun is getting ready go down. I look at this incredible crew. Uh many of them locals who I've known for years, uh a few of them my family and what a full circle moment to be able to come back here and help bring home.
