I am currently earning 7.1% interest on my emergency fund. This is obviously way above the market rate, so let me explain. I am using the bank Zopa Bank. This is not sponsored by the way, this is just a genuine recommendation. And they actually have a regular saver that offers 7.1% interest. Like most regular savers with these really high interest rates, there is a limit of 300 pound a month which you can deposit. Of course, once you've built that up over a few months, it really does start to pay dividends and my interest payments are really high for the amount of savings I have in here. It's part of their biscuit account which comes in this like cute thingy. So you need to open that first and then open their regular saver. I've just been transferring over 300 pound a month from my high yield savings account I have with Chip, which offers 4.2% interest, so that I've built my emergency fund within this extra high interest account. One more thing I really like about it is that it hasn't given me a definite period when this will end. So in the terms and conditions, it does say you can renew the account after six months. I actually didn't have to do anything, I've had it for more than six months now and it's still 7.1%, nothing has changed. Of course, if that does end, I will let you guys know. So if you're looking for somewhere to put your emergency fund or your savings, or you're looking to get into the habit of regular saving, then this could be a good option because it's actually giving you a very nice amount of money back on your money.
