I stopped buying These things At age 20 Here's some things I completely stopped buying at age 20 as a 22 year old who is very passionate about intentional spending and building wealth. 1. Takeaways I'm so sorry for my people who love ordering a cheeky but it is just not for me. If I am gonna spend the money on eating I'm gonna go to a nice place, enjoy the setting, enjoy the experience. It just feels like such a waste and it is so expensive. 2. Energy drinks I no longer buy them. I think I can just like, corrupting me from the inside and they're just crazy. I just think they're so bad for you. Maybe I sound like a boring adult when but yeah, I no longer buy energy drinks. 3. Fast fashion ever since I was like 18, 19 and I discovered Depop and Vinted, I've been obsessed with buying second hand fashion. And I quickly realised that usually older clothes are just made so much better. Because obviously in recent years fast fashion has ramped up. So not only from like an ethical perspective but just from a personal preference, I prefer not to buy fast fashion. There is a little bit of nuance to this. I think I will still buy Like I love a good Zara or even like a Primark cami. Stuff like that socks I'm not gonna buy on Vinted. But for the most part I have completely cut out fast fashion. 4. Foundation I have completely cut out fast fashion foundation and skin makeup. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for wearing some nice eyeliner and mascara. I am a girly girl, but I no longer wear skin makeup because I just feel like I way prefer having my natural letting it see the sun, letting it This is just a personal preference and I'm not judging anyone who wear skin makeup because it's pretty normal thing to do. But I have totally cut out buying that since age 20. 5. Individual stocks Individual stocks for people out there, you might know from watching my content that I started my investing journey buying individual stocks at age 19. I was copying the boys in my sixth form and they were trading and making loads of money on the daily. And although I wasn't a trader, I did start by buying things like Apple, Tesla, Microsoft. I didn't really understand what I was doing. But these days I no longer buy individual stocks. I invest in ETFs, index funds which are made up of loads of stocks so that nothing is gonna bring down my portfolio significantly if one company does badly.
