If you don't, consider yourself lucky and leave it that way. No.4 Publix. Genuinely beloved, and yes, the customer service is exceptional, the stores are immaculate, and that Pub Sub is a cultural institution that I will not disrespect. But the prices run consistently 20 to 25% above the value tier, and loyalty to a grocery store is not a sustainable financial strategy. No. 3 Sprouts. Good for specific things, bulk bins, produce, supplements. But as a full service value grocery store it simply doesn't hold up. You'll leave feeling healthy and financially humbled. No. 2 fresh market. Genuinely lovely experience with genuinely punishing prices. Fresh market is what happens when a grocery store decides that ambiance should be a product that you're paying for. And you are significantly and number one. Come at me, my organic certified friends. But without a doubt and unequivocally, Whole Foods. The Amazon Prime discount helps at the margins, but the margins just happen to start at an altitude that most grocery budgets cannot reach. Outstanding quality, outstanding prices for the store, not for you. I shopped at Whole Foods for approximately one month and paid the equivalent of a mortgage payment for my daily kale salad and spicy chicken Bites surprise, I no longer shop there. Most expensive grocery store in your life is the one you continue to shop at out of habit rather than intention.
