Before my hair started falling out...
hair felt like something so average, so boring.
My hair wasn't special, it was just there.
I didn't think twice about it.
But when it started falling out in clumps..
It became the thing that my whole world orbited around.
If I wasn't analyzing the density of my hair in the bathroom mirror...
I was goolging treatments and making doctors appointments.
My life was limited by what my hair could or couldn't do.
It was crazy how this once small thing could take up my whole life.
And with that, came the shame.
I cancelled plans because of how my hair looked.
And avoided family photos...
But after a lot of healing, my hair feels like just a small thing again.
It doesn't feel all consuming.
This is just to say, if you are feeling any of the things I felt, you're not alone.
Your feelings are entirely valid, I understand them deeply.
For me, when I started working toward acceptance, rather than fighting it....
that's when things truly changed.
And I promise that if I can get there, you can too.
