There's one sentence I add to the end of almost every Claude prompt before I hit send, and it quietly fixed most of the mediocre answers I used to get. Here it is: Before you answer, check whether you have everything you need to give me your best possible response. If anything is unclear, missing, or could be read more than one way, ask me your most important questions first, ranked, not a long list. Then state the assumptions you would make if I did not answer them. Do not start until I confirm. Then I actually answer its questions before I let it run. Instead of guessing what you meant, Claude interviews you first, so the answer comes back far closer to what you actually wanted. Less rewriting. Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, all of them.
