I lived in Singapore briefly 7 years ago and almost daily I still think about this funny Turkish hawker that used to be in the Jurong West Sheng Siong supermarket food court (they’ve since relocated downtown!!). I’ve hung out with/bonded some of my closest friends there and it was a true anchor when I was living somewhere that was very foreign to me. I don’t have a photo with the Uncle who runs this hawker stall (I missed him last time I was in SG), but it is crazy to me how some of the people may have a seemingly small impact in your life but really they mean more to you than you could ever imagine. Am especially in my feels because my favorite Singaporean group in NY Urban Hawker closed yesterday and I feel a very similar way about the hawkers there. So if you ever feel like what you’re doing or building isn’t big, just know it means a lot to some of us #singapore #hawker #kebab
