There’s also a founder fellowship after completing the residency which is a basically the same deal than YC at $400k for 7% (funny how these numbers all align) and guarantees $600k in additional funding but the residency is imo a much better way to structure these things as not everyone will still have conviction in an idea after going through residency. Looking at this from a venture capital I'm much more willing to invest in the type of founder that's going through SPC. Than I am the founder who's going through YC. I don't think age is a requirement for founding a startup. I don't think you need to have a set of experiences or skills necessarily. But I do think that if you're going to say that you're worth $30 million, that you should actually be worth $30 million when you go out and start that fundraise. If you're thinking of founding a startup later in your career, maybe you should look into SPC as a potential option.
