Things you need to LIE about in an interview
Recruiters say they value honesty... but what they actually reward is strategy
"What does success look like to you?"
❌ Don't say:
"I just want to grow and do well in the role."
✅ Say:
"Consistently delivering against targets, improving output quarter over quarter, and becoming someone the business trusts with higher impact work."
Translation: You think long term and measure progress.
"How do you handle pressure?"
❌ Don't say:
"I stay calm and try not to stress."
✅ Say:
"I prioritise what drives results, remove noise, and execute regardless of external pressure."
Translation: You don't need emotional babysitting.
"What are your strengths?"
❌ Don't say:
"I'm organised and motivated."
✅ Say:
"I'm disciplined with my time, clear on priorities, and reliable when outcomes matter."
Translation: You get things done without chasing.
"Why do you want this role?"
❌ Don't say:
"I really align with the company values."
✅ Say:
"This role aligns with how I work performance driven, measurable, and directly tied to results."
Translation: You understand how businesses actually operate.
"How do you define good performance?"
❌ Don't say:
"Doing what's expected of me."
✅ Say:
"Delivering predictable results, improving efficiency, and contributing to team performance beyond my individual remit."
Translation: You think commercially, not emotiona
