You guys are loving me cutting up my tees and now my sweatshirts so I figured we can do both of them together and kind of talk you guys through it. It is super easy but the biggest thing you need is a good pair of fabric scissors. When I cut up my first t-shirt I had wonky ones and the wonkier the scissors the wonkier the cut is going to be. I got fabric scissors from Walmart for like $7! Nothing too fancy but any fabric scissors will do! Then get a tee or sweatshirt you want to cut and get to cutting 🤪 doesn’t have to be perfect either! 🫶🏽#upcycling #cuttinguptees #momstyle We are going to cut up this t-shirt and all we're going to do is basically cut it along like the neckline right here. The lower the cut is the baggier the top will be when you start to stretch out the shirt. If you want to try this out maybe cut right under the neckline right here. I feel like it's a good guide but I'm going to go a little lower today. I'm going to go right here and honestly just start cutting. This doesn't have to be perfect. The lines may be a little bit but as far as like making sure it's even you're good. Just like that. Literally that is it. And then the another important part is to make sure you're stretching it out. Don't be scared. Pull it. Now for the sweatshirt. I recommend cutting a little bit less and then if you want to cut more you can. Keep that in mind. Cut right here. Again, this doesn't have to be perfect. Again, free ball girl. Doesn't have to be perfect. Look. And look. I made a little wonky cut right there but then you're going to cut up like that. And then you're going to cut it up laying flat and just kind of make our own imaginary line. Again, this doesn't have to be perfect. Again, free ball girl. Doesn't have to be perfect. Look. And look. And that's it. Look how cute. Let's try on. This is the t-shirt. Look how cute even with like this sports bra underneath. I made the cut a little lower so it can fall off my shoulder more. If you don't like that, just go a little higher in the neckline. This sweatshirt came out perfect. The sleeves perfect length. The side cute. I feel like I can go a little higher and then I'm like, I think it's okay. I have so many sweatshirts and now I can cut them up and still wear them in the summer. You guys are going to have to let me know if you guys start cutting up your clothes too.
