hey girls! quite a few products lately. I feel like one of the most commonly requested is: glycolic acid v. salicylic acid. let's do a quick overview and how they compare and differ. I have these both in the same format, liquid toners that I convert into mists for easier application. starting off first with glycolic acid. this is an AHA: meaning it works above the surface of the skin to refine the skin's appearance and tone. not only will this serve well for dealing with dark spots or hyperpigmentation, but it also does get rid of a lot of debris and dead skin on the body. so if you're dealing with any odor in your underarms or in your inner thighs, you can use it there as well. then we have salicylic acid, this is a BHA: meaning that it will work below the surface of the skin. this will function better in the pores. body acne, strawberry skin, clogged pores, or anything that's giving us a rough and bumpy texture. this will be your best friend. now, with these being chemical exfoliants, both should be used only 2 to 3 times a week maximum onto clean, dry skin preferably after showering in the evening and absorbed into your skin. make sure to follow with moisturisers to build that moisture barrier back up in that sense. it also will make your skin barrier a little bit more compromised because it does take off so much. so make sure that when these are active in your routine, spf is as well. let me know if you've tried either or if you're torn between which of the two would serve you best. if your skin concerns or desires does require the use of both. let me know if you wanna see a schedule of how to use these as well as anything pertaining to these products or anything similar. by girls!
