I wax goodies for a living and something everyone's been asking me is how you're supposed to exfoliate in that area. I'm gonna give a very basic routine for how you should be exfoliating in that area. This is just a general statement for most skin types. Obviously, not everything's gonna work for everyone. So, take it with a grain of salt. First piece of advice is to use an exfoliating cloth like this instead of a loofah because loofahs don't really exfoliate anyways and if you're using gloves, like the mitts, they can harbor bacteria and they can stay wet and like the fingertip area. You kind of have to replace them like every week or two. These will last you a couple months just because they lay flat and they dry out faster. And the way you're gonna use it is just with your soap or body wash in circular motions, scrub on the skin for 30 to 60 seconds. Now, for talking specifically about the bikini area, you don't need to go into the labia area or between the cheeks. You just want to get the pubic mound as well as the bikini line really well. Um, now that's physical exfoliation. For a chemical exfoliant, you can do something like this, a salicylic acid body wash. That can give you a nice gentle general exfoliation throughout the week. You can also use something like this, it's a glycolic acid toner. This is just gonna be another way to prevent ingrowns and dark marks and things like that as you are managing your exfoliation through the week. You can just put this on a cotton round, swipe it onto the area you want to use it in. A lot of people use this on their underarms and bikini as well as their face, even though it's marketed as a face product. If you're a client of mine, of course, I have bikini specific products in the studio, but this is just kind of a general advice that I would give to somebody who does not know where to start and needs to exfoliate. So, first, physical exfoliation, then chemical exfoliation.
