We’re getting closer to launching Scenic Drive! My fiancée has never liked the highway so we have created an app that pushes for alternative routes in a way that is uniquely different to any other travel apps such as Google Maps or Apple Maps. Scenic Drive allows members to create routes of their own that can be uploaded to a database. This database further allows for more and more alternative routes as the app gets used more and more. This compiling data will help with road trippers, RV enthusiasts, motorcycle clubs, car clubs and so many more share their experiences on the road. With Scenic Drive, you will be able to upload road conditions so other members can watch for roads that don’t suit their vehicle type, animals that could be dangerous by pinning their location- keeping others alert and safe, as well as sharing photos with friends and family of their trips. With the goal to have cities, municipalities, districts, and small towns enter in special events curated to the interests of road trippers such as car shows and food markets- Scenic Drive will be as user friendly as possible to create the most tailored backroad trips available. With the first versions only being in English and adapted for iOS and Desktop initially, we will be asking for patience in the coming months beyond our first launch- working out the kinks to learn what works and what doesn’t work for our members. As always with this type of programming, there are many hiccups and delays that can become taxing. I’ve worked for nearly 3 years on this project and can definitely say I’m proud to have moved most of the app off local storage and have began shifting over to database. Launch will be as soon as possible but an exact date is still to be determined. We’re very excited to share this with everyone and we hope you’ll check it out when launch time comes! #app #driving #cars
