If someone asked me for advice on software engineering or computer science, I genuinely would not know what to tell them. The advice I would have given six months ago is probably not even relevant anymore. And I feel like I'm one of those old heads who give their kids advice on how to get a job and the kid knows that that shit would not work at all. This past summer, I've been tutoring and giving lessons to this high schooler on how to code in Java, and honestly half the time I'm doing these lessons I'm like, bro, is this even relevant anymore? At this point, I might start telling my student to learn Next.js and start Vibe coding everything.
