Hi, I'm Ash and I have Hashimoto's. And it's been a little bit of a pain in my ass. Two years ago, I started having really bad flare-ups, using idiopathic anaphylaxis symptoms and I even went into anaphylactic shock. That's actually what started my Hashimoto's episode. I didn't know your thyroid could cause histamine overload. So many issues to where you're having reactions to things that you don't have like a true allergy to. I've had a flare-up I've had for about nine months. I've been doing really good since July of last year. I have had like symptoms during that time. I've always been good about staying away from dairy as much as possible and limiting my gluten intake on full stop. No dairy and no gluten. The last month and a half I've been having really bad dizzy spells. Heart will like go super, super high and then all of a sudden drop super, super low. And it'll just like do that trend. It'll do that trend. It'll cause like tremors in my feet and my legs. Vision will go in and out like I'm about to pass out. That's something new with my flare-ups and we're trying to figure out if it's due to my Hashimoto's or if there's something else that's going on. I did have to go to the emergency room yesterday to get a workup. They did confirm that I am in a flare-up and my Hashimoto's is flipped over to hyper, which is what it's been doing for the last two years. It'll be hypo and then it'll flip to hyper and then it'll do that over and over again for months. It's really, really frustrating. I've had some really scary episodes unfortunately with that and I've started to have more anaphylaxis symptoms the last three weeks. Which is why I'm going full stop on dairy and gluten. I already eat an anti-inflammatory diet but I'm just gonna pay really, really good attention to what my body is reacting to. In addition to dairy and gluten. I'm establishing care with a new primary care doctor tomorrow. And then I have a hospital on Wednesday to get fit for a heart monitor. I have had heart palpitations before but nothing like this. I'm staying positive though because your mind is so, so powerful. I'm just taking this and my body is trying to communicate with me, and I am listening. I am taking the right steps to find answers. I don't have to solve everything today. Each appointment brings me closer to understanding what's going on. I always take magnesium. I've been taking selenium and inositol, which I've heard can really help. Would really like to see a holistic doctor but I just can't afford that right now. I'm doing the best I can with what I have. I'm probably not even touching on everything because I get like these little weird symptoms which if you don't know your thyroid contributes to so much in your body. These different types of episodes, I'll even get like a fever up to like 101, 102. And it'll only last a few hours and then it'll go away. My thyroid is a very, very tricky little motherfucker. So treat it well.
