Did you sell a car to someone that you knew couldn't afford it? Well, that's what we did on Saturday. Let me give you the facts of the story. This lady made $4,200 a month. Her mortgage was $2,800 a month. I know that was her only income. How do I know? Well, because I had three months of bank statements and I saw that was her only income. So that's $1,400 of disposable income. So you guys think if she needs a car loan, she's probably going to be reasonable, wants something reliable, payments in the 200s, maybe 300s? Nope, she wants a GVB. Now, a GVB is only $20,000 and under good credit circumstances, we can get it done at a pretty good payment. But when you have a $530 beacon, like this lady had, payments gonna be a little higher. Payment ended up being $630. Now, they did cap the months, they didn't give her 72 months, I think they gave her like 48 months or 54 months, something like that. But $630. And so it comes down to me now. Bank approved the loan, lady wants the loan, I know she can't afford the loan. What do I do? I show her the numbers because that's my job. I showed her the numbers on Friday. She came in on Friday, she said, 'Okay, I'm gonna think about it and I'll let you know.' I'm thinking to myself, I hope this lady comes back. I actually showed her a Mercedes that was half the price of the GVB she was looking for. Just so I could feel good. You know what I mean? She came back on Saturday and she said, 'I can make it work.' And so she left with it. GVB paying $630 a month on $1,400 of net disposable income after her mortgage. She has a kid. I don't know how she's gonna buy groceries. Let's forget about the conversation about health insurance. Anyway, it's my job to not tell people what to do. It's my job to do what they want me to do. So if you want me to get you into a GVB at $630 a month, which is half of your net disposable income, I'm gonna do that. And by golly, we did it. Anyway, do you think it was wrong for me to even present those numbers? Should I have tried to have a conversation with her about trying to get into a little bit more economical vehicle? Or did I do my job? Let me know in the comments and like for more content.
