Thank you for today.

Lord Jesus, this day is a gift from Your hand. Thank you so much for it. Thank you for the amazing gift of life. Thank you to be able to exist. Thank you that you brought existence out of non-existence. Thank you that you have a purpose for us. Thank you that we can work, thank you that we can play, thank you that we can rest. Give us wisdom to do all of that in balance. Thank you that we can love you and love others. That we can develop intimacy in our relationships this day. Thank you so much. This is the day You have made. We want to rejoice in it and be glad in it. Protect us from pressure. Protect us from mishandling that pressure and becoming stressed out, anxious. Help us to trust You. To just trust You. Help us do that, Lord, and not get caught up in all the distractions, in all the stress factors, in all the pressures. Help us to just trust You. Thank you, Lord God, that this day is not something to be wasted, but it is meaningful and significant. Help us to realize that when we're washing dishes, when we're cleaning the floor, when we're taking out the garbage, as well as when we're really studying, interacting with people, that those are activities that please You. Thank you, Lord, that the person on the other end of this line, perhaps has not had a good string of night sleep, just like myself. Help us to be like David and the Psalms who, when he's walking with the watchmen on top of the walls, instead of being terrified in his thought life as he's trying to sleep, instead of focusing on all the things that could go right within a day, within a night, within a lifetime, rather than focusing on the things that the devil could destroy or the things that he's done wrong or the things that he can be anxious about. Lord, remove those types of guilty thoughts from us today, tonight. Remove those anxious thoughts. Remove those thoughts that turn us into functional atheists where we leave You completely out of the picture and help us to grow in knowing Your name for You, Lord, above all. And because of Your great love for us, we can trust You and lie down and sleep in peace. Thank you Jesus in Your name. Amen.
