Prayer to get good grades.

Jesus, thank you for the ability to go to school and to develop the mind you've given us. Help us to do well, to get good grades. Help us to develop our ability to be logical, to be rational, to understand deep truths, to be able to work through complex problems. Lord, help us to thrive in an academic environment, to glorify you, to honor you with the minds that you've blessed us with and then to enjoy the fruit of thinking well, thinking clearly, thinking deeply. Lord, thank you that we are not defined by our grades like so many of our classmates might do who don't believe in you. Help instead for us to know that the pressure ultimately is off because it doesn't matter at the end of the day how we do on an exam paper because it does not define who we are. And yet you've created us to do great works. Lord, we know the greatest scientists of the modern science era, the 16th and 17th century, they got great grades, they did wonderful science, Lord, because of your calling on their lives as well as because they knew that ultimately the great mathematician gave opportunities to discover his math. And so I pray, Lord, that we would study hard, focus hard, that we would just bracket out any distractions and put in the right habits to do well for you in Jesus name. Amen.
