Engagement Rings I Tried On Before Choosing My Dream Ring Blue Nile has a store in the mall near me, and I was almost certain I wanted a marquise. But after trying it on, the pointed ends felt a little too sharp for my personal style. A pear with pear side stones was beautiful, but it just wasn't it. An oval with a halo and pavé band was beautiful, but it felt a little too glam for me. (Ignore the horrendous nails) I've always loved emerald cuts. They're so timeless and elegant, but I didn't love how one looked on my hand. I love the classic feel of a three stone ring, but the halo here felt a bit too bulky for what I was looking for. Tried on a three stone oval without a halo, and knew I was getting closer. It felt timeless, elegant, and classic with a twist. I also loved that it felt simple yet unique, and I hadn't seen anyone with a ring quite like it! Tried on my friend's oval solitaire. It was beautiful, but felt a little too minimal for me. I realized I wanted more character while still keeping that classic look, and it confirmed I preferred platinum over yellow gold. This was so pretty and felt much more aligned with my style. My friend was testing rings from Amazon which inspired me to order one and figure out what I truly love! I kept coming back to this ring at a local jewelry store. I couldn't stop thinking about the three stone oval engagement ring set in platinum. It completely felt like me. I stopped into Tiffany & was considering sapphire side stones since we're both Sept. babies. I loved how meaningful that would be, but ultimately wanted a ring I could truly wear with everything. I also loved the nostalgia of a three stone round, it felt so timeless and reminded me of the rings I grew up seeing. But I was drawn to the elongated shape of an oval for a more modern twist on that classic look. Ordered a 3 stone oval from Amazon and wore for a couple of months, I realized I loved the overall look and feel. It confirmed this was the style for me, but I knew I wanted to customize the proportions to make it perfect. I love the look of an emerald engagement ring, so I wanted to try one more time just to be sure! But once again, I felt it wasn't the right shape for me or what flattered my hand best. In the end, I couldn't be happier with my custom three stone oval engagement ring set in platinum. It's everything I dreamed of! She's timeless, elegant, and completely me.
