I ALWAYS LAUGH

I always laugh at clients who show up with seats in a state like this. "It's just a quick clean. Should take an hour." The other day, he drops his car off before work. He says while shutting the door, "Just shampoo the seats. I'll be back in two hours." Seats in photos passed. Up close, the fabric is soaked through rings everywhere. But what I'm charging for isn't the product. It's the hours I put in. I work up a lather, run the extractor. The water coming out is dark brown from the very first pass. One pass isn't enough. I need four. Three hours later, back. All smiles, ready to leave. Except I've only just finished the third seat out of four. He checks his watch. "This isn't done." "You said an hour." "I stay calm." "No, you said that." "Look at this water coming out of your seats. Nobody's touched this in years." The bucket and goes pale. Two hours later, with seats like new.
